Abstract

The study examines the impact of privatization on growth in emerging economies at the macro level by evaluating that whether privatization leads to economic growth in the presence of control variables, macro-economic indicators and interactive terms for 115 emerging economies for the period 1988 to 2018. The empirical findings depict privatization has a negative impact on economic growth while the interactive terms of privatization with debt and foreign direct investment have a positive impact of privatization on the economic growth of all the emerging countries. The implication of this analysis proves privatization lead to growth at the macro level through proper policy insinuations.
